BLACK!

After that strong affirmative from one of my office colleague, I couldn’t stop myself from viewing Black!

On the technical side, this film scores a near perfect 10 in every aspect, be it Cinematography, Screenplay, Lighting, Music, Script…..The richness in texture and color are truly Bhansali’s trademark. The background music scored by Mychael Danna (?)surely doesn’t have the slightest Bollywood tinge. Use of instruments was on the mark always!! The focus is maintained in the screenplay throughout. While Debraj's introduction and the parent’s agony are consciously kept short, the girls’ rich upbringing & the childhood learning processes are kept continuous & quite elaborate. But the only complaint is that though the screenplay is designed to reveal the whole story through the girl’s eyes, not enough research and work has gone through to accomplish that effectively.
